World stars of extreme sports, bejs-jumper, Russian Valerij Rozov (45) visited Belgrade. Unfortunately we are left deprived of some of his incredible jumping because it was here only to visit friends in the Red Bull. This bold,
multi talented
athlete said that there's nothing quite like the feeling of jumping with a mountain from which no one has jumped before.
Valery Rozov is a professional climber, paraglider, parachute jumper and base jumper. It is impossible to briefly describe his career.
- My story about extreme sports began long ago, 18 years old I began climbing professionally - Rozov said.
Since then, he won numerous world mountain peaks and participated in competitions and won many prizes. Since 1994. to 1996. participated in the project "Seven Peaks" within whom climbed Elbrus (5642m), Mon Blanc (4810m), Aconcagua (6960m), Kilimanjaro (5885m), Karsten (5040m) and many other peaks.
- In addition to climbing, later came paragliding, parachuting and base džamping. First jump I took off from a building in Russia. There are few things in those sports that attract me. Simply indescribable feeling of freedom you have when climb and jump places from which no one before jumped. It is a challenge and I like challenges. On the other hand engaging in such sports led me to many unusual and interesting places - said Valery.
So far he has behind him over 8000 jumps out of which 750 were base.
- Each project requires different preparation. If you want to jump from the building just have to wait for good weather. And if you want to jump from the mountain you will first need to climb on it and then to jump and it may take several weeks. The highest mountain that I jumped the Hindukush in Pakistan, has almost 6,000 meters, and nearly two weeks we spent on the western walls climbing. Really something incredible - the story continues to this brave athlete.
His jump into an active volcano on the Kamchatka Mutnovski in June this year has left many breathless. However, jokingly says that his worst fear was
marrying
for second time.
- There is no "the most terrible" moment in my life. Each project is planned in advance, assess the situation and when it's time for action, I'm all for it. I have no doubt in my mind, I have only one goal and that is to jump - explains Rozov.
-
As for regards of Serbia and Belgrade has not thought about the project here, although as he says nothing is impossible. Valery Rozov alsou the founder of Russian Extreme Project, which gathers together the highly qualified athletes with him, are perfect extreme team organizes expeditions and unique
sports events. In addition, Rozov is one of the few base climbers in the world and you could say that it is practically the founder of the discipline.
- It is a combination base-jumping and climbing. If I'd to jump, first I have to climb up the mountain. The first time I did it was in 2002 at Polar Baffin Island in Canada. For the next year I plan a number of projects, I see no limit, this will be doing this as long as I have strength and as long I find this interesting - says Valery.
